1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to EQK, a per-app equalizer and audio routing utility for Mac from kuja.dev, currently in development. It also covers the EQK pages on kuja.dev.
2. Audio capture and processing
With your permission, EQK captures playback audio from the apps you select so it can apply per-app EQ and route the result to the output device you choose. All processing happens in real time, in memory, on your Mac. EQK does not record audio, does not save audio to disk, and does not transmit audio anywhere. Ending a route or quitting the app stops capture immediately.
3. Playback metadata
EQK can observe now-playing information (such as track name and genre) that Apple Music broadcasts on your Mac, and may keep a small local history of listening genres to suggest matching EQ presets. This metadata stays on your Mac and is never sent to kuja.dev or anyone else.
4. Local data and imported files
Routes, EQ presets, preferences, and similar working state are stored locally in the app's settings on your Mac. If you import a parametric EQ file (such as an AutoEq or EqualizerAPO export), EQK reads only the file you select and converts it into a locally saved preset.
5. No account, no analytics, no network
EQK does not require an account, contains no analytics or telemetry, and makes no network connections. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox.
6. Website signups and analytics
If you leave your email on the EQK page at kuja.dev, it is stored so we can send you a launch announcement, and is not used for anything else. The kuja.dev website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which may process standard technical data such as page views, referrers, device context, and performance metrics.
7. Data removal
Locally stored EQK data can be removed by deleting routes and presets in the app or by removing the app and its settings from your Mac. To have a signup email removed, contactsupport@kuja.dev.
8. Changes
EQK is in active development, and this policy may change as the app changes. The effective date will be updated when that happens.
